Union City police respond to home invasion, burglary
By Jon Watje Managing Editor Union City police responded to a report of an armed home invasion and burglary on Wednesday. Union City Police Chief Richard Stephens said his department received the call at around 3 p.m. from a residence at the 7300 block of S. Gregory Road. “The home that was invaded was technically in Oklahoma City, but it was right at the intersection of State 152 and Gregory Road on the east side of the road,” Stephens said. “I was the first to arrive on scene and Oklahoma City police arrived about 30 minutes later to take over the case.” Stephens said the victim reported that two black males knocked on his door and asked to use the phone. Stephens said both suspects were armed with a handgun. He said they took the victim’s wallet, cell phone, a television, computer, an AK-47 and a vehicle out of the driveway, a golden Buick Rendezvous. “We want to remind people to lock their doors and be aware of their surroundings,” Stephens said. “Crime like this can happen anywhere.” |
