The Mustang volleyball team competed at the Norman Tournament this last weekend. The Broncos finished the tournament in third place.
“I’m pleased, we found out a lot about the team this week. They would not go away and never gave up. They fought through every inch of the game which I’m very pleased of,” said Coach Steve Hajek.

Getting the second seed that put Mustang up against the tournament champion Mount Saint Mary’s who hadn’t even lost a set all season. Mustang took a set against the Rockets but, lost the game in four sets.
In the consolation finals between Mustang and Deer Creek the decision came down to the fifth and final set. Mustang snuck out the fifth set and took home the bronze medal from the first tournament of the season.
“It was a very, very close game. The first set they beat us 18-25, we came back and beat them 25-20 and the remaining three sets were decided by two points,” said Coach Hajek.
