The Lady Bulldogs had a very strong outing in District play last week and will now look ahead to Regional action starting Thursday.

Minco hosted their District by hosting Amber-Pocasset and Verden last week and won all three of their games.

Their first game of District was against Verden and Minco cruised to an 18-0 victory.

“Skylar Morse pitched that game and did very well,” said Coach Jason Little. “We hit their pitcher really well and Verden made some errors that helped us score as well. We also did a great job bunting and playing small ball to get baserunners into scoring position.”

After defeating Verden, Minco played Am-Po next and won the game, 10-2.

Monica Munn pitched the game and an error was how the Lady Panthers scored their only runs.

On Friday, Minco faced Am-Po again and cruised to an 8-0 victory to win District.

Munn pitched all five innings of the game.

“She pitched great,” Little said. “I think they had just one or two hits. We also hit the ball very well, just about everyone hit it well.”

The Lady Bulldogs jumped on top of Am-Po by scoring four runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning, one in the third and another one in the fourth.

In their three games in Districts, Minco outscored their opponents 36-2.

“I think the girls are very focused right now,” Little said. “They are not satisfied with just making it to Districts and they are not satisfied just making it to Regionals. They want to go all the way.”

Regionals will be held Thursday and Friday of this week.
