Robert Crout has been developing commercial and residential properties in Mustang since 1977 and his latest project will soon take off at a busy intersection in the city.

Crout Companies recently began advertising Wild Horse Ranch, a new commercial development that will go in at the northeast corner of SW 59th and Mustang Road.

“You will start seeing some heavy equipment out there in the next 30 days,” Crout said. “We will start construction on the sewer lines and we will have to bore a line under Mustang Road for water, and that will be a pretty big project.”

Although the development is currently in the preliminary and planning stages, Crout said he believes buildings will be going up in 2017.

“We have one big contract, but I will let them announce it when they are ready, they are a big chain buyer,” he said. “This will be a very nice development and one of my signature developments. It will also have some out lot pads and a few multi-family homes, although most of it is zoned for commercial use.”

Crout said the development will be 32 acres, which will include a strip mall fronting SW 59th Street.

“The development has not been approved by Oklahoma City yet and we are still in the planning stages,” he said. “But I do know this will be a very good looking development at that intersection. It is a great location.”

Crout has developed 24 plats in nine residential subdivisions, five multifamily projects, five commercial districts and numerous office and commercial buildings.
