New businesses continue to build and open in Mustang

By Traci Chapman

Several new businesses have opened in recent weeks, while major construction continues to bring others closer to a Mustang opening.

Mustang City Manager Tim Rooney said Monday Cryosauna OKC, Energy Mart Construction, Fluffy Mustaches and Face It Asethetics have opened, while another – Bronco Nutrition – has applied for a business license.

Mustang’s Hampton Inn is beginning to take shape, with contractors on Monday working on the building’s frame.

Cryosauna, a cryotherapy medical treatment facility, is located in the 500 block of W. state Highway 152, with Energy Mart Construction located in the same building; Face It Aesthetics is officed in the 200 block of N. Trade Center Terrace. Pet grooming business Fluffy Mustaches, is located in the 100 block of N. Cedar Branch Way.

Bronco Nutrition is slated for the former Orange Leaf location, in Pebble Creek Plaza.

Hampton Inn and Suites is taking shape on E. State Highway 152, the city manager said. Construction crews on Monday were busy working on framing the building.

Starbucks gets closer to its own building construction, Rooney said. After crews worked last week on the demolition of the old Los Vaqueros building, construction was expected to begin at the site.

“Starbucks officials have told us that their opening is expected to be in November of this year,” Rooney said.

A warehouse building slated for 700 W. state Highway 152 is currently in the groundwork stage, with contractors expecting to pour the concrete slab shortly, the city manager said.
Red Roof Storage, located in the 200 block of N. Pine Terrace, finished its slab work last week and will next work on parking lots and driveways, as well as street and fire lanes, the city manager said.

Mustang Community Development Department staff are also currently reviewing plans for Laurel Springs, a 55-plus community planned for a site behind Peachtree Apartments.

Finally, a dental office planned for the former Payless Shoe Store location in the 1000 block of E. State Highway 152 is also moving forward; final inspections are underway there.

“Obviously, we have a lot going on, which is always good news for any city,” Rooney said.
