Developer looking for businesses to setup shop at Choctaw Road and SE 15th Street
By Ryan Horton
Construction on a new commercial development is underway.
Dirt work is now visible on a two-phase retail development at the southeast corner of Choctaw Road and SE 15th Street.
The project was first announced in early 2018.
After the property was purchased, a quick demolition of the dated Shamrock branded “GAS N SNAK” store was completed by the new property owner. Now work is underway to allow for new businesses to setup shop at the intersection of the two major thoroughfares.
Plans call for two buildings built in different phases.
Dirt is now moving on phase one which will include a building that will house the Choctaw insurance agent’s new office and provide leasable retail space to new businesses looking to setup shop in Choctaw.
The owner is planning for a build time of under six months.
The first building will have three units available for lease.
Bobby Lewis State Farm will be the first office setup to anchor the new development.
Phase two will be a matching strip of retail space with five units available for lease.
While no other tenants have been announced, the owner has expressed his hope to attract a restaurant with a delivery service to the currently unserved region of southeast Choctaw.
