Another restaurant has closed because of the coronavirus. The Mustang Applebee’s Grill & Bar, 1020 E. State Highway 152, has temporarily closed after two employees tested positive for COVID-19.

A sign on the front door read “We are currently closed for deep cleaning and restaurant maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming you back soon!”
In a statement to The Mustang Times, Applebee’s corporate officials confirmed the restaurant had closed after two employees tested positive for COVID-19.

“The health and safety of our team members and guests is our top priority. We have strict and rigorous disinfection processes and health protocols in our restaurants, including health checks prior to each shift and all team members are required to wear masks while working. Two team members who last worked on July 7 and July 8 have tested positive for COVID-19 and are in self-quarantine. Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately closed the restaurant on July 8 to conduct a deep cleaning and disinfection in alignment with guidance from the local health department. We’ve also notified all team members who may have been exposed, to monitor themselves for symptoms and be tested. The restaurant is opening today for To Go only, and we hope to open the dining room soon,” said Maria Yusafi, Operations Leader, Louisiana Apple, an Applebee’s franchisee

This week a Mustang Taco Bell closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. Taco Bell officials told the Times they immediately closed for thorough cleaning and sanitizing.

The Mustang Sonic also closed this week after blocking the entrance with orange cones and posting a sign that read “ Closed due to staffing.” Mustang Sonic has since reopened.

Today the Oklahoma Health Department reported 687 new positive COVID-19 cases.

Ya they closed after 2 managers got Covid, but we had 3 or 4 employees that had tested positive before this bit they didn’t close. I think it’s some bs they should stay closed until they get this under control but I know that won’t happen.
