The Choctaw Police Department is leading an investigation into the death of a recent Choctaw High School graduate.
At approximately 2 a.m. the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call stating shots were being fired at a vehicle.
Upon arrival of officers to the 14000 block of NE 36th Street, a black Lexus driven by 18-year-old Armonii Johnson was found crashed into a culvert.
According to investigators, approximately 12 spent shell casings were found in a one mile stretch of road.
Authorities say it is unknown at this time if Johnson died from gunshot wounds or the impact from the crash.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and notify investigators, reported chief Kelly Marshall with the Choctaw PD.
Johnson graduated Monday night in a ceremony at Choctaw High School’s Bill Jensen Field.
