Students who have speech, occupational therapy, or physical therapy will still have those services on scheduled day regardless of being blue or gold days. Additionally, students serviced by an IEP who fall in severe profound, intellectual disability, or autism can attend school on both blue and gold days.
In person learning start dates are currently set for Aug. 24 and 27.
Parents should be informed about group selection by Aug. 10.
Any concerns about team changes due to blended families or child care support should be directed to specific school sites.
The plan will be re-evaluated and determined in 2-week increments as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
“The health and well-being of our students and staff remains a top priority. We appreciate your continued support and confidence in CNP Schools,” said CNP Superintendent David Reid.
The schedule changes will only effect families planning for a more traditional learning environment this school year.
Plans for the newly established EDGE virtual school remain unchanged.
EDGE is Choctaw-Nicoma Park’s virtual learning environment, outside of CNP school facilities, while still allowing participants the opportunity to participate in district extracurricular.
“Students will be assigned a certified teacher in their area to monitor and assist student progress. Students choosing the virtual school option will be allowed the ability to participate in extra-curricular activities such as STEM Club, honor choir, Student Council, fine arts, AFJROTC, VoAg, and athletics,” said Reid, regarding EDGE – Educating the Digital Generation with Excellence.
