The Aesthetics Place MedSpa expands services

Last spring, Tanja Pittman, a Nurse Practitioner, was like other businesses owners across Oklahoma facing uncertainty due to the COVID-19 shutdown. She followed recommendations from the CDC and closed her business as it was determined to be “non-essential”.  Not knowing what to expect or how long her business would be affected, she and her staff took the opportunity to use their time wisely and gain more education and certifications to provide more services at the medspa.

After about 10 weeks, Pittman and her husband Rick were able to reopen The Aesthetics Place MedSpa located at 543 E. Highway 152, Suite 101 in Mustang, and prayed for the best outcome.

“Starting a new business is challenging in and of itself, however, It has been even more challenging with COVID-19,” she said.  “It has progressively gotten better every month since reopening though. I am really happy with where we are considering everything that has happened in 2020 .” She states that she recently had to cancel two scheduled events due to the ice storm and power outages to celebrate their one year anniversary. She hopes to reschedule this soon.

Pittman said COVID-19 required her to make some changes to her operation. She started doing virtual consultations in mid-May, but now does on-site consultations by appointment if the patient is comfortable with that. They have the choice. The lobby hours continue to be Monday through Thursday 12noon – 4pm, however, consultations or procedures may be scheduled between 10:00am – 6:00pm Monday – Friday and By appointment only on Saturday.

Pittman said The Aesthetics Place Medspa services focus around skincare, health and wellness including anti-aging treatments such as collagen induction micro-needling, Botox and dermal fillers, platelet rich plasma specialty care for hair restoration, skin rejuvenation, female rejuvenation, permanent makeup, weight loss, health and wellness coaching, adult and teenage acne programs and more.

Pittman said she has increased her professional skin care products with two medical-grade skin care lines that target all types of skin. They are formulated to help with medical conditions such as teenage or adult acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation or the effects of normal aging.” These are top of the line in the aesthetics industry and we are excited to offer them to our community.”

“I am proud to say that we have increased our services and products by working hard,” she said. “Emily Dustmann is a certified medical micropigmentologist and offers our permanent makeup procedures such as microblading eyebrows, upper and lower eyeliner and lip color. She also provides eyelash care and extensions. During the shutdown, she started esthetician school and she just completed her certification as an esthetician. We are bringing on more services that she can provide and her knowledge base is growing”. “I am so proud to work with someone that is so dedicated and talented”.

Pittman said you have to really enjoy what you are doing and believe that you can make a difference, and most of all, just have faith and keep going!

“I love building relationships and hope to offer what this community needs,” she said. “It is a good fit for me and allows me to encourage health and wellness and pursue my professional interests. I want local residents to receive aesthetic services right here in Mustang instead of driving into Oklahoma City or Edmond. We are very well trained and happy to be here!”
