A popular West Coast drive-thru coffee chain is coming to Midwest City.
Dutch Bros Coffee plans to open a location at 5916 SE 15th St., near SE 15th St. and Warren Dr. It will be the Oregon-based company’s first location in Oklahoma.
“We’ve been looking to expand into Oklahoma and this opportunity came to our real estate team through a developer they’ve worked with in the past,” said Rilynn Davis with Dutch Bros Coffee. “The site has great retail synergy and visibility. We plan to continue expanding in [Oklahoma], so be on the lookout for more.”
Dutch Bros Coffee offers a vast selection of specialty beverages from hot or cold coffee drinks to frozen energy drinks, smoothies, milkshakes, lemonades, teas and concoctions. Some of their top selling drinks include Dutch classic coffees, Nitro Cold Brew, Dutch Bros Blue Rebel energy drinks, frosts and freezes.
Company officials say they plan to break ground on the project this week and open in March.
The Dutch Bros Coffee will be a drive-thru location with an outdoor patio. Bear Construction, of Kansas, is the contractor for the 862-square-foot building.
The company started in 1992 by two Oregon brothers Dane and Travis Boersma. The two brothers were working together on their family’s farm when they decided to try the coffee industry. They started selling coffee from pushcarts and the company grew to more than 300 locations in several Western states.
“Dutch Bros strives to be a force for a good in the communities it serves,” Davis said. “While serving up specialty coffee drinks and its private label energy drink-the Rebel, Dutch Bros’ ‘broistas’ work to make genuine connections with all customers. Dutch Bros is not a coffee company, it’s an experience company working to ensure every customer has the best experience at the window.”
