A new health clinic is set to be built in Harrah.
SSM Health will be constructing a facility on NE 23rd Street just northwest of the newly built Kickapoo Turnpike.
The project is expected to break ground before May of this year.
Located at 18961 NE 23rd St., the new health center will be located northwest of the intersection of Luther Road and NE 23rd Street.
Records show the health medical group purchased the 87,120-square foot piece of land in the fall of 2020 for $313,000.
Harrah officials say the new facility will be a valuable and needed addition to the community.
“Harrah is open for business,” said mayor Larry Fryar.
The facility’s proximity to the new turnpike is surely not a coincidence as city leaders work to manage the potential growth Harrah could be seeing in coming years.
“This (turnpike) has provided a lot of visibility of what Harrah has to offer,” said Harrah Ward 3 City Councilman Duane Patterson.
The SSM team includes more than 40,000 employees and 10,000 providers across four states.
