Like many things over the past year, the annual Midwest City Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast was canceled in January due to the pandemic.

Event organizers will look to continue that tradition with the “Wisdom and Wine” brunch on June 19. The Juneteenth Day event will include discussions about current laws, race relations, civil rights, and where to go from here.

It will take place at the University of Oklahoma Forum, located at 1704 Asp Ave. in Norman. It will be from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Midwest City Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast Committee is sponsoring “Wisdom and Wine.”

Featured panelists include: Dr. Paul Ketchum, Dr. Belinda Biscoe, Dr. Mitchell Peck, Chief Nate Tarver, Dr. Allyson Shortie, Camille Landry, Dr. Constance Chapple and Michael Eric Owens.

It will also include an awards ceremony honoring Rev. W.B. Parker and other Civil Rights activists.

Admission is $30 per person and includes food. Wine and mimosas are sold separately.

Tickets can be purchased by calling (405) 757-4016 or (405) 254-0933.
