Bricktown is throwing an Independence Day block party celebration in Oklahoma City on Sunday, July 4.
The event will be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Mickey Mantle Drive with live music, games, food, and a fireworks finale, said Justin O’Neal, Bricktown District Manager for the Downtown OKC Partnership. It is Downtown Oklahoma City’s only public fireworks display. Admission is free.
O’Neal said patrons can spend the afternoon cruising the Bricktown Canal on a water taxi, or putt their way around the 18-hole mini-golf course at Brickopolis, before grabbing a meal at one of Bricktown’s different restaurants before watching the fireworks show.
“The event this 4th of July will be a completely new setup from previous years,” O’Neal said. “Visitors and locals alike are invited to spend the day in Bricktown, as there will be many different things going on. The Bricktown Canal Water Taxi, Brickopolis Arcade and mini golf as well as the Bricktown Ferris Wheel will be open. Also, the OKC Dodgers will be playing a special home game in the park.”
O’Neal said starting at 7 p.m., on July 4, the Bricktown Association will be hosting live music, yard games and a prime viewing area on Mickey Mantle Dr. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:45 p.m.
“I believe this event will attract people from across the metro and beyond and encourage everyone to follow the event on social media or our website, Welcometobricktown.com,” he said.
