WEST OKC TODAY: New grocery store concept, restaurants, retail & apartment complex planned for Brookstone Village

A major development has been announced for the corner of SW 29th and Mustang Road.
Brookstone Village will be 24 acres of commercial development that includes restaurants, retail and more.
“We are currently working on infrastructure for the development which is scheduled to start this summer,” said Brookstone Village Developer Caleb Hill.
One of the anchor tenants will be a new to market grocery store. It’s a new concept called JackBe.
This grocery store does all the shopping for you. Everything is handpicked with no substitutions. You just order your groceries and pick them up. There is no minimum order and everything is delivered to your vehicle. You never enter the grocery store because It’s pick up only.
Brookstone Village will also be the place to shop and grab a bite to eat. They are planning a nice shopping area with multiple restaurants.
“We are going to construct 20,000 square feet of retail that will include a coffee shop and other restaurant retail services,” said Hill.
Do you think that area could use a gas station? No problem. A convenience store operator is planning to build on the corner lot of that intersection.
This development is so big that it will also include a credit union and apartment complex.
“We’ve got 150 units of apartments in a new to market format that ERC is developing. We also have a credit union that will soon be developing their site. They are under contract,” said Hill.
Brookstone Village developers are excited to get started on the project. They believe the area is underserved with all the explosive growth in Eastern Canadian County.
“I just think it’s a well-thought-out master-planned development within a retail corridor that’s underserved. This is an underserved market for retail. A lot of good things will start to occur,” he said.

We need more on the west side of Mustang rather than more for Yukon

We do not need anything else on the west side. Their is already too much traffic.

The local Mustang elementary and middle schools in the can’t support 150 apartments along with the other housing that’s going in right now. The market isn’t underserved, it we all enjoyed where we lived and now we’re being told that we need more retail and more traffic. It’s the most ludicrous idea ever thought up to make a buck for someone who doesn’t live in the area or understand its needs.

Being a resident down the street from there, some of this may be nice for convenience but the Apartment complex doesnt sound good. With young couples with children and a super highway like mustang rd. Not gonna be safe for children. Hope the developer is thinking about this more than his pocket book.

Not happy about all the traffic and over crowding of the already to capacity schools. Lived her 38 years and hate the traffic.

And yet, they’re (planning commision) seem to be ignoring the will of the people and deferred yet again new apartments, cheap homes, flooding issues, traffic issues for proposed development on SW 59th and Morgan Rd. A petition presented with approximately 300 signatures to NOT allow this was seemingly ignored. So having pushed forward another meeting to June 14th, please show up at the meeting and voice once again your displeasure!!

What and where do you want the moderation? Thanks

I love how they slip in the apartments and call it progress. Our “little” town is being over developed and it’s taking everything that’s special about it, right down the drain. Our schools are overcrowded, the traffic is ridiculous, and high crime rate will likely follow right along side all this growth. Wake up Mustang, this is our HOME!! Pay attention!!

Whose brilliant idea was it to put three-story apartment complexes behind residential homes? I will have no privacy in my backyard. Not to mention they will be able to look through the window in my shower and all the windows in my backyard. Direct access to my home from their windows. Blocking all sunlight to the back of my home. I never received any notice of apartment complexes going up. This is a disaster and ruining the property value of my home. Not to mention your guys are working all hours of the night and keeping me from having any silence in my home in the evening time and on Sundays. Burke Stone Ridge residents should’ve been notified of the intent to build these apartments ahead of time. I’m sure the pinnacle residence aren’t excited about this either. I didn’t move out here to have my view blocked by a three-story apartment complex. Now I have this giant eyesore to look at.

Please put in a grocery store on Morgan Rd, instead of more apartments!. The traffic is so bad in mustang it’s ridiculous. No place to park at walmart. Not enough handicap parking.
