Mid-Del Tech Center offering CPR class

The Mid-Del Technology Center is offering a Family and Friends CPR Class beginning Oct.4.

The course is open to people who want to learn CPR but do not need CPR course certification. Attendees will learn the life-saving skills of CPR, AED, and choking with hands-on practice.

“This is for information purposes only and will allow people to practice hands on with the CPR mannequins,” said Megan Bain. “It is ideal for community groups, new parents, grandparents, and others interested in learning how to save a life.”

The CPR class is filling a demand in the community. In the past, the Midwest City Fire Department offered a Family and Friends CPR class on a regular basis but is not at this time. Mid-Del Tech Center has offered a certified CPR class, but this is the first time they will host Family and Friends CPR.

Bain said they are hoping to offer this on a regular basis but will determine soon whether to do this on a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly basis.

The event is open to those 16 years and older, or 12 and up when accompanied by an adult.

The first class will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the MDTC, 1621 Maple Dr., Midwest City.

The cost is $10 per person. To register, call (405) 672-6665.
