The Union City Police Department charged two people with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute stemming from a case on July 19.
Ja’Linda Lorraine Rex-Dean and Jamiriam Elida Miranda-Dean received the charge when they were found to have possession of methamphetamine and marijuana (both controlled substances in Schedule II and I of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Act of Oklahoma) with the intent to distribute the same substances.
The charges came in Canadian County, and the information provided by Canadian County District Attorney Michael Fields was filed Sept. 30 (Rex-Dean) and Oct. 3 (Miranda-Dean).
According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, an officer clocked the vehicle traveling 46-mph in a 35-mph zone and immediately proceeded to get behind the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop. The officer also recognized the vehicle to not have a visible tag.
The affidavit says the driver did not have a driver’s license. When the driver began removing from the car, the smell of marijuana came from the car.
The driver stated there was marijuana in the car, but that the two didn’t have a medical marijuana card. During the probable cause search of the vehicle, a trash bag was discovered that contained multiple bundles of substances including tobacco, a white crystal
like substance, THC gummies, THC Vapes, Cigars, liquor, a green leafy substance, THC Wax,
and paraphernalia.
A green leafy substance was also located in a black container in the front seat.
Both individuals in the car were placed under arrest for intent to distribute and then transported to the county jail.
Unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute is a felony charge with punishments of imprisonment for up to seven years and/or a fine of up to $100,000.
