Meals will be available for pickup Nov. 19

The Mid-Del Technology Center and The Rock Church are partnering for the annual “Feed Our City” food drive.

The Rock Church started the project a few years ago with a purpose of collecting “meal kits” to provide a complete meal to families in need. Last year, the Mid-Del Technology Center partnered with the church to help collect food items as well as provide a more accessible location to hand out the meals.

A meal kit includes: one box of stuffing, instant potatoes, gravy mix, two cans of green beans, two cans of corn, one box of brownie mix, and meat (ham or turkey).

The group distributed more than 200 meal kits to families in the Mid-Del community in 2021. Their goal this year is 300 meal kits.

Mid-Del schools and local businesses are invited to participate in the food drive. Donations will be accepted through Nov. 18.

Food items can be dropped off at the Mid-Del Technology Center, 1621 Maple Dr., or at The Rock Church, 6801 S. Anderson Rd. in Oklahoma City.
Monetary donations can be made through The Rock Church or online at therockusa.com/oklahoma-city and click the “Give” tab.

Meals will be distributed Nov. 19 in the JE Sutton Fieldhouse Parking lot, located behind the Mid-Del School Administration Building, 7217 SE 15th St. in Midwest City. The event will begin at 9 a.m.

Anyone needing a meal can pick it up at the event. No registration is required.
