Carl Albert girls golf win season opener

Carl Albert’s girls golf team opened the season by winning the Lawton MacArthur Invitational at the Lawton Country Club on March 20.
The Titans dominated the field with a team score of 316 in Maxwell scoring. Clinton was a distant second with 359 followed by MacArthur with 392.
The team had four of the top five scorers. Rylan Ashley finished second with a round of 78. Kamryn Zuniga was third with 80, followed by fourth-place Mia Luong (85) and Peyton Black (88) in fifth.
Natalie Blonien, of Altus, shot 71 to win the tournament.
On Thursday, Carl Albert’s girls competed in the Guthrie Bluejay Invitational at Cimarron National Golf Course.
The Titans finished third with a score of 339. Edmond Memorial won the tournament and Bishop McGuinness was runner-up.
Zuniga led the way for Carl Albert by placing fourth with a score of 78. Black shot 84 to place seventh.
Carl Albert is scheduled to play in the Southern Oklahoma Invitational April 4 at Dornick Hills Country Club in Duncan.
