Carl Albert’s girls soccer team dropped their first match of the season last week in a 6-1 loss to defending state champion Bishop McGuinness.

But the Titans (10-1, 2-1) didn’t stay down long.

They rolled rival Guthrie in a 10-0 mercy-rule victory last Thursday night for homecoming.

Kayden Murphy exploded with five goals in the district victory at Gary Rose Stadium. Sarah Hobrecht also had a hat trick with three goals, and Ashlee Davison and Allyson Walker both had one goal.

Davison scored the team’s lone goal against McGuinness with Mallory Stone on the assist.

McGuinness (7-0, 4-0) is the only unbeaten school in District 5A-2.

Carl Albert traveled to Piedmont Tuesday in a key district contest. Up next, they will face Southeast on Thursday.
