Carl Albert’s girls soccer team was bit by the injury bug last week, but still came out on top.
The Lady Titans earned a 3-0 win over Southeast Thursday night at Speegle Stadium in Oklahoma City.
Mallory Stone, Ashlee Davison and Allyson Walker each scored in the game. Kamden Hawkins had two assists.
Coach Quan Tran had to call on five reserves to play the final 20 minutes of the game after several players left with injuries.
The win keeps the Lady Titans in the playoff race. As of last week, they were in fourth place in District 5A-2. The top four teams advance to the postseason.
Carl Albert dropped a game earlier in the week against Piedmont 3-2. The Lady Titans scored in the first 20 minutes of the game and took the lead again with about 10 minutes before halftime.
Piedmont scored two goals in the second half off penalty kicks for the 3-2 victory.
Hawkins had both scores for the Lady Titans.
The girls finish the regular season this week with games against Midwest City on Tuesday and El Reno on Thursday. They should be favored in both games and could move up to third place.
