Reggie Long, owner of Tuttle’s Smokin’ Joe’s, located at 151 E Main Street in Tuttle, says the restaurant will open Tuesday, at 11 a.m., and will be open until 8 p.m.
Those will be Smokin’ Joe’s hours Tuesdays through Saturdays, and it will be closed Sundays and Mondays.
“I am excited,” Long said Friday. “I’m ready. I’m on my way there right now. We got our truck coming today. We’re ready to go. We’re stocking the food today. We’re getting the meat in and all the trucks in. The next few days will just be prepping and finishing up, making some final touches and getting ready to open.”
Expanding from Davis and Rush Springs, Smokin’ Joe’s has a reputation for sizable portions of high-quality barbecue.
“We take pride in what we do,” Long said. “We use good products and we think we’re pretty consistent. We do have large portion sizes, and that’s something that people like. It’s hard for some to eat it all. A lot of times people take home more food than they eat.”
Smokin’ Joe’s will soon offer alcoholic beverages, but is currently awaiting its liquor license.
“I won’t be able to open with the bar,” the owner said, “with the alcohol, because we’re still waiting on our ABLE license, so that’ll be coming a few weeks down the road. The bar will be called the Smokehouse Saloon.”
