Carl Albert’s Keegan Westlake earned another top five finish last week at Bluejay Bash at Lake Hefner Golf Course. The sophomore shot an even-72 to place fifth overall at the tournament.
Westlake placed third at the Del City Invitational a week earlier.
“Keegan has really worked hard this season and since last season after an impressive showing at the state tournament as a freshman,” said coach John Herbert. “He’s just a sophomore so the sky is really the limit for him.”
The Titans finished fifth as a team with a score of 312. They finished second among 5A schools. OCS won the tournament with a 292, followed by Bishop Kelly (299), OKC Storm Blue (303), OKC Storm Gold (307) and Carl Albert.
“I was very proud of our team against a strong field,” Herbert said. “They overcame some tough conditions with a wet course and rain during the round.”
Logan Lantz also had an impressive round with a 6-over-78. Zak Pennington was next with an 80 followed by Caden Nossaman (82) and Cole Wipfli (87).
The Titans competed in the 5A regionals Monday at Cedar Valley Golf Course in Guthrie. The state tournament will be May 8-9 at The Territory Golf and Country Club in Duncan.
