Carl Albert girls win regional crown
All six players qualify for state tournament

Carl Albert’s girls tennis team won a regional title Monday at Heritage Hall.
All six players qualified for the Class 5A state tournament by placing in the top four at the regional
The Lady Titans finished first in three of the four competitions. Sophomore Georgia Mosher and freshman Bailey Rusche swept the singles titles, and freshman Lily Bryant and senior Brylee Toney were winners at No. 2 doubles. Senior Emily Boyer and junior Rylee Reese took second at No. 1 doubles.
Mosher won the No. 1 singles title with a victory over Heritage Hall’s Ainsley Trice, 6-4, 6-4. Rusche beat Heritage Hall’s Ava Nelson in the No. 2 singles finals, 6-2, 6-0. Both Mosher and Rusche will be playing at state for the first time.
Bryant and Toney edged Guthrie in the 2 doubles finals, 6-2, 7-5. Toney placed third at state last year at No. 2 singles, and Bryant will be making her state tournament debut.
Boyer and Reese lost to Heritage Hall’s Jasmine Crain and Tokara Henderson, 6-3, 6-0. Boyer and Reese both medaled at state last year in doubles, while playing with different partners.
The state tournament is Friday and Saturday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
