Boyer, McLaughlin earn all-state tennis honors

Carl Albert tennis has a pair of all-staters.
Keegan McLaughlin and Emily Boyer were recently named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Teams.
The OCA All-State Tennis Tournament is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. July 25 at the University of Tulsa’s Michael D. Case Center. McLaughlin and Boyer will represent the West squad.
Boyer was a three-time state placer in doubles. She and junior Rylee Reese placed fourth at state this year. The pair went 26-4 and were runners-up in the regionals. They won six tournaments this season, taking first at Ada, Duncan West, Putnam City North, Guthrie, Suburban Conference and Phil Barnes 5A Public Schools Tennis Tournament.
Boyer also earned all-state honors in volleyball.
McLaughlin was 26-6 as a senior and finished sixth at the Class 5A state tournament while playing No. 1 singles. He was the school’s first boy to place at No. 1 singles every year in high school.
Both plan to compete in college athletics. Boyer will play volleyball at Oklahoma Baptist University, and McLaughlin signed to play tennis at Grinnell College in Iowa.
