Midwest City Juneteenth Day celebration planned for June 17

The City of Midwest City and the Juneteenth Midwest City Committee will be hosting the first ever Juneteenth Midwest City Family Festival on June 17 at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park.

The Juneteenth Midwest City Festival will be a free family friendly event aimed at celebration, education, culture, and unity. It will take place from 3 – 8 p.m.

Juneteenth, which commemorates the emancipation of African Americans has been observed for nearly 156 years and was declared a federal holiday in 2021. The event will be one of the few official celebrations taking place on June 17 across our great state and all are welcome.

The theme for this year’s event is “Stronger Together.”

The community festival will include top-notch band performances, contests, children’s activities, vendor booths, adult games, free food for our attendees and the first Little Miss Juneteenth Midwest City pageant.

For more information and to sign up as a vendor, contact junteenthmwc@gmail.com or call (405) 313-7128.
