Three Mid-Del recent graduates represented their schools one more time.

Midwest City’s Mya Brown and Carl Albert’s Ariana Diaz and Kamryn Sutton played in the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State game Saturday at Mustang High School.

The girls played for the West squad in the Large Schools All-State Game. After a close first quarter, the East squad pulled away for an 83-55 victory.

Brown finished with 5 points, Diaz scored 4 points and Sutton added 3 points in the loss.

Despite the setback, Brown said she enjoyed playing against some of the best players in the state.

“It was a lot of fun playing against this great competition and it makes you want to get better,” she said.

Diaz shared that sentiment.

“It was great to compete against some of the best players in the state and just give it our all,” she said. “This is the last time we’ll touch the court with some of these girls.”

All three girls will continue their basketball careers in college. Brown signed with Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, Sutton signed with Redlands Community College, and Diaz will play basketball and run track at Southern Nazarene University.
