Carl Albert cheer excels at Norman team camp

Eight girls earn all-star honors, West named all-american

Carl Albert High School’s cheer team shined last week at the J&C Cheer Camp in Norman.

The team claimed numerous individual and team awards at the two-day event. The awards included Top Gun in Stunting, ninth grade Jumps, 11th grade Jumps, 11th grade Tumbling finalist, 12th grade Motions, 12th grade Tumbling finalist, Team Dynamite Stick Award, Team Radical Performance Award, Two 10/10 Perfect Performance Awards, and a Team Championship Cup Trophy.

Carl Albert had eight girls selected as All-Star Cheerleaders. They were Azzy King, Addie Gentry, Gracie Kelley, Britney West, Taylor Swearingen, Emma Hurst, Karyan Daggs and Kallista Combs.

Senior Brittany West was also named an All-American.

Carl Albert cheer will host an NCA camp July 18-19. The team will receive individualized coaching to prepare for the upcoming season and state competition in September. The team will also compete in stunt cheer in the second semester.
