Autumn House celebrates longtime manager

The City of Midwest City has special housing for many seniors and a manager that takes care of everyone, Joyce George. She has many other obligations but her seniors at the Autumn Housing come first.
George celebrated her 20-year anniversary at Autumn House Aug. 2 with residents, staff and city leaders. Autumn House went all out to be sure she knew how much she was appreciated.
Most of the residents were present to enjoy the celebration of snacks prepared by activity director Sara Parker and receptionist Baileigh Cherry.
Midwest City Mayor Matt Dukes read a proclamation declaring Aug. 2, 2023 as “Joyce George Day.”
Shari Lopp, Executive Director spoke of the great compassion Joyce had for all the seniors at the Autumn House and thanked her for all her service.
City Manager of Midwest City, Police Chief and several of the police officers were present. George works consistently with the Police Dept. on many projects.
She is President of the Citizens Police Academy Alumna and many of the members of the academy were present to also thank her for her service to the community.
Rep. Robert Manger and Sen. Brenda Stanley were present for this special occasion.
