The Oklahoma County Election Board announced that three polling locations have changed.

Election officials relocated polling sites that were located at schools in the Mid-Del School District. Superintendent Rick Cobb said the polling sites posed a potential safety risk. Polls are open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. during school days.

“With our ongoing emphasis on safety and security, it’s important to know who is in our buildings,” said superintendent Rick Cobb. “When we have elections during the school year, this is impossible to achieve.”

The new polling locations are effective immediately. The City of Midwest City will have a special election Sept. 12 to continue a .4015 of a percent sales tax. The Mid-Del School District has scheduled a $492 million bond election on Oct. 10.

The new polling locations are:

Precinct 394 – Country Estates Baptist Church, 1000 S. Midwest Blvd.

Precinct 396 – Midwest City Library, 8143 E. Reno Ave.

Precinct 406 – Crest Baptist Church, 9721 SE 29th St.

The precincts were previously located at Midwest City Elementary School (394), Midwest City Middle School (396) and Carl Albert Middle School (406).

The election board plans to relocate polling sites at Parkview and Barnes elementary schools. New locations have not yet been confirmed.

Our polling place was lighthouse church on North East 10th but it has some serious building issues right now.
