After a week off, Del City returns to action Friday night as they host Tulsa East Central (1-2) for the start of football district play.

The red-hot Eagles (2-0) are coming off back-to-back thrashings of Booker T Washington and Midwest City. Del City won the non-district games by a combined score of 102-14.

Meanwhile, East Central is coming off a 48-43 loss to Tulsa Will Rogers last week. Their lone win was a 38-27 victory over Nathan Hale.

The Eagles beat the Cardinals last year 63-7.

Del City’s offense has been humming with the help of a balanced attack and dominant offensive line.

Senior running back Rodney Fields has carried the load in the ground game. The Oklahoma State commit has rushed for 414 yards and six touchdowns on 31 carries.

Quarterback River Warren has thrown for 639 yards and eight touchdowns with three interceptions. His top target has been Ladanian Fields who has 17 catches for 320 yards and four scores.

Ricklan Holmes leads the defense with 24 tackles and two sacks.

Del City and East Central are set to kick off at 7 p.m. at Robert Kalsu Stadium.
