Bombers picked for Big 7 Conference honors

Midwest City’s softball team had three players named to the all-Big 7 Conference team.
Sophomore Noreli Brown (pitcher), senior Karissa Payne (utility) and sophomore Addison Scott (utility) were named to the all-conference team.
Payne led the Bombers with a .500 average and a .580 on base percentage. As a utility player, she saw time at second, shortstop, third and catcher.
Brown threw 137 innings and struck out 252 or nearly 40% of the 669 batters she faced. She also hit .381 with an on base percentage of .452.
As the leadoff hitter, Scott batted .423 with a .529 OBP. She had two doubles, five triples and two home runs. Scott had 11 walks and zero strikeouts.
Livia Davis, Kenee Thompson, Kore’Yana Matthews and Kadynce Berry received honorable mention.
Choctaw’s Dakota Frizzell was named the district player of the year. Other top individual awards went to Enid’s Katelyn Bezdicek (pitcher of the year), Choctaw’s Anna Malaske (offensive player of the year) and Enid’s Chloee Robinson (defensive player of the year).
