Titans host Piedmont in regular season finale

Carl Albert’s district schedule is backloaded, to say the least.
The Titans (9-0, 5-0) close out the regular season with their three toughest opponents in Bishop McGuinness, Guthrie and Piedmont.
They already knocked off two of the three with a blowout win against the Irish (6-3, 4-2) and a nailbiter with the Bluejays (8-1, 4-1). On Friday night, they’ll host rival Piedmont for senior night.
Carl Albert faced its first adversity of the season against Guthrie. The Titans trailed much of the night but pulled out a win on a late touchdown pass from Kevin Sperry Jr. to Marcus James. The comeback win clinched another District 5A-2 title for the Titans.
Carl Albert was off last week.
Piedmont (7-2, 3-2) is coming off a 19-14 loss to Bishop McGuinness. The Wildcats will likely finish fourth in the district, barring an upset over the Titans and a Shawnee win over Guthrie.
It will likely be the last time Carl Albert and Piedmont will face off in Class 5A. The Wildcats will be moving up to Class 6A-I next season for football.
Carl Albert will host a first-round playoff game against Lawton MacArthur, El Reno or Noble. Piedmont will likely face Elgin or Midwest City in the first round.
