Carl Albert’s girls picked up a huge win last week over Shawnee, winning 49-44 at home.

The win gives the Lady Titans a season split with Shawnee and keeps them in the race to host a regional tournament.

Coach Kyle Richey didn’t have to think twice when asked what the biggest difference between their two games with the Lady Wolves was this season. The answer was rebounding.

“We gave up 22 offensive rebounds against them the first time so that let them have so many more shots,” he said. “I don’t know what they got tonight but I can guarantee it wasn’t 22.”
Audrey Plunkett led the team with 11 points and Ausha Moore added 10 points including three 3-pointers.

Richey also gave credit to seniors Shelby Rusche and Lanie Moore who have productive players off the bench this year.

“They give us so much and sometimes they don’t show up monster in the state sheet,” Richey said.

Evi Mitchell and Lanie Moore had seven points apiece.

Carl Albert closed out the regular season Tuesday against Altus for senior night. The playoffs begin next week.
