Less than a week after taking down Guthrie on the road, the Carl Albert boys delivered another pivotal victory at home against Crossings Christian.

The Titans rallied from a 17-point deficit in the third quarter for a 51-49 win on Thursday night.

Senior Quincy Hopkins played a key role in the comeback, scoring all 16 of his points in the second half. He tallied 12 in the fourth quarter as the Titans outscored Crossings 23-4 in the final period.

Crossings Christian took control in the first half. They led 18-10 in the first and went up 30-20 at halftime. Cal Furnish scored 15 points and Cam Parker had 11 in the first half.

Things got worse before they got better for the Titans. The deficit grew to 17 points in the third before the home team turned things around.

Quincy Hopkins led the team with 16 points, while Jayden Hopkins and Hutch Russell scored 10 apiece.

Carl Albert also earned an 83-34 win over Western Heights on Friday night. Quincy Hopkins scored 13 and Steven Anderson had 12 points.

The win created a three-way tie for first place in District 5A-1 with Crossings Christian, Carl Albert and Guthrie all even at 11-2 in district play. The Knights have the edge in district points.

The standings will become clearer this week. Guthrie hosted Crossings Christian on Tuesday and the Titans were home against Altus.
