Body found in Del City

Del City police are investigating after a body was found July 17 near NE 4th St. and Sunnylane Rd.
Police say the woman’s body was found about 1 p.m. in a wooded area on the north side. Construction crews discovered the body while clearing brush on the property.
The victim has not been identified. Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play and they are working with the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
Maj. Brad Cowden said they do not believe the body was that of a 26-year-old woman reported missing last week by OSBI and Muscogee Creek Lighthorse Police.
Cowden said the area where the body was found is known to have homeless encampments.
