I recently saw a news report on TV about a proposed treatment facility in Bridge Creek for individuals with addictive problems and the public outcry was “NOT HERE”. I am the board chairman of such a facility in NW Oklahoma. I believe the reason people don’t want such a facility is they haven’t thought thru their response. The individuals that go to such places are generally wanting help and are there to get past this stage in their lives. Residents of such facilities that do not comply with requirements of the program are generally removed and must find housing elsewhere. The more dangerous element are the ones still on the street pushing and using in your neighborhoods. I have seen instances where the real problem lived next door to the individuals making the greatest protest about such facilities and programs. I urge you to take some time and think about this question: “Would you rather have the user on the street using and selling or in a structured program getting help?” Sincerely, Jay Bartel

In his effort to make us all feel better about the ‘slush fund’ in congress, Markwayne Mullen was wrong on a couple of levels.

    1) He says it is ok since only a very small amount of that $17.1 million was used to settle cases of sexual harassment. He couldn’t be more wrong. If a single penny of taxpayer money was paid to settle claims of wrongdoing that is wrong. Personally, I think it should be a crime!
    2) If damages were paid to settle claims of harassment, whether sexual or other, or discrimination, or any other wrongdoing, those damages should be paid by the wrongdoer. I fail to see any reason taxpayers should be stuck with this tab.
Oh, well, that’s just me. I’m so aggravated that such a ‘Slush Fund’ should even exist and the idea that lawmakers have been sticking taxpayers with that kind of expense – and just because they can – is just appalling to me. It makes me wonder what other kind of dirty secrets are in that swamp.

Maybe I don’t want to know.

RE: The recent death of Alexander Lindahl, age 24, north of Okarche, Oklahoma at the hands of five Canadian County Deputies and establishment of a foundation to develop and provide technology to reduce the number of car chases ending in death.
Media coverage of the shooting death of the young Native American struggling with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, PTSD and panic attacks has been extensive, but in some cases misleading. Statements by Canadian County Sheriff West in defense of the five deputies acting outside their jurisdiction sometimes changed to create more questions than answers and the full story of the young man’s relationship with Canadian County officials was lost in the confusion.
In initial interviews, the Sheriff stated that five Canadian County Deputies pursued the stolen Braum’s truck driven by the victim northbound through Okarche, Oklahoma on Highway 81 into Kingfisher County and originally estimated the speed of the truck at near one-hundred miles per hour with estimates later revised to “over” one-hundred miles per hour. The Sheriff indicated the speeding vehicle was deemed a danger to public safety when the victim began passing cars on the shoulder and his deputies “made the decision to “End this right here.”
Reports from the scene and ruts on the right shoulder of the highway show two cars exited the highway side by side indicating the truck was forced off the road likely by deputies who according to Sheriff West also flattened the truck’s tires with gunshots at the time it was immobilized by mud at the roadside.
Almost imperceptible in photos, the center median at the scene consists of a steep incline toward the southbound lane of traffic. After leaving the shoulder, the truck apparently crossed the highway to ascend the incline of the median. At that point, the truck, was apparently driven to near the top of the median before continuing sideways on the hill with the truck leaning downward toward the passenger side. After traveling a short distance sideways and northward along the side of the incline, the truck was driven downhill again toward the northbound lane of the highway where it became stuck in the mud at a roadside drain and immobilized.
According to Sheriff West, at that point, against the gravity of the truck’s tilt and the gravity of its direction of its travel, the victim exited the disabled truck brandishing an object termed a firearm before being shot to death by Canadian County deputies. The gravity of the direction of the ascending truck plus the tilt of the truck sideways toward the passenger side made lifting the driver’s side door to exit the vehicle extremely difficult.
Though pieces of shattered windshield remained at the site, Only Patrina Adger, reporting from the scene for Channel Five News noted the windshield of the truck had been shattered. When the issue of the shattered windshield was questioned, the unlikely possibility of one stray bullet shattering a reinforced windshield was proposed. Later another unlikely story was issued stating the victim exited the truck brandishing what was deemed a firearm then re-entered it to be shot to death through the windshield. No other explanation of the shattered windshield has been offered.
Wounds indicate two bullets pierced Alexander’s body. One bullet apparently entered the little finger of his right hand and exited through the middle finger eliminating his grip on either an object deemed a firearm or the steering wheel of the vehicle as it ascended the median. A second bullet entered the victim’s mid chest and exited under his left arm resulting in his death.
No explanation was offered as to why, if the victim was, in fact, brandishing a weapon, the killing shot was fired after the real or imagined firearm had been shot from his hand ending any threat to officers.
When combined with the unexplained shattered windshield, the possibility of the victim’s being shot while holding the steering wheel inside the truck becomes a realistic possibility and leads to the question of why officers found it necessary to fire the killing shot after any real or imagined “firearm” had been removed from his hand. If the first shot killed the victim, why was the disarming shot fired as the weapon no longer posed a threat?
The victim’s death in Okarche was far from Alexander’s first encounter with Canadian County and Mustang law enforcement. Alexander’s involvement with Mustang police and Canadian County deputies began long before his death. From his teens, Alexander was repeatedly accosted and searched, almost always without probable cause. He was frequently taken to headquarters to be questioned then released when no evidence of a crime could be produced.
The Mustang News apparently acting on reports from Canadian County sources described Alexander at age twenty-four, as having a “lengthy criminal record including sexual assault.” At no time was Alexander charged with or convicted of sexual assault. His so-called criminal record consists of juvenile offenses and one prison term beginning in 2013 after he took alcohol to a party hosted by a seventeen-year old and was charged with “Distributing Alcohol to a Minor.” He was sentenced by Canadian County Judge McCurdy to four years in prison and released in 2016.
Beginning in his teens, Alexander was stopped repeatedly by Canadian County deputies and Mustang police. After a severe beating and the frequent police encounters his PTSD was worsened by a gang attack while in prison for “providing alcohol to a minor.” Alexander suffered PTSD and panic attacks. Still in his teens, after completing a residential treatment program, he returned to Mustang where he was stopped by officers without probable cause at least twelve times over a short period of time as he walked around town seeking employment. Mustang police and Canadian County law enforcement have been overheard saying they “We know Alex on sight and intend to see him behind bars.”
In October 2016, after serving three years of his four-year prison sentence, Alexander suffered a near fatal attack by a prison gang in which his throat was cut at the site of two major arteries. After emergency surgery to correct his life endangering injuries, he became a medical liability to the prison system and was released to attempt to re-structure his life.
Alexander’s frequent law enforcement encounters occurred especially at any time he was in a position to achieve his dream of becoming gainfully employed. Occasionally jailed or fined for obscure offenses, he was frequently threatened with confinement, and manhandled by arresting officers. Over the past two years after leaving prison Alexander did all he could to avoid the panic attacks of PTSD while also attempting to re-structure his life. Despite continued needless and illegal encounters with Mustang and Canadian County officials, he fathered a child and was earning an income by retrieving and repairing items from dumpsters for sale online, when he was arrested and fined $1,000 for taking the dumpster items which unknown by him was declared illegal. Despite the discouraging incident, he sold his dog’s puppies to purchase a car, had scheduled a second interview for a reliable job and was on his way to becoming a “trustworthy father” to his one-year old daughter.
His next heart-breaking encounter with Mustang police came one week before his death as he again attempted to become employed and set his life right. Despite panic attacks from PTSD and harassment by law enforcement, he had scheduled a second interview for a steady job when, while parked with a young friend on a darkened side street in a car recently purchased with income from the sale of his puppies, he was again accosted by Mustang police. As witnessed by the terrified young lady at the scene, he was held in a headlock, punched in the throat and told by one of the two arresting officers. “I’m going to kill you.” His car was illegally searched and seized. He was arrested and jailed for possession of brass knuckles deemed a deadly weapon in a violation of his parole, destining him to return to prison.
Alexander’s death is a horrific loss to all who knew and loved him. It is another in a long list of needless killings of Oklahomans by adrenalin fueled officers in needless car chases that far too often end in fatal crashes or shooting deaths.
A foundation is being formed in Alexander’s name to purchase technology presently in development to bring vehicles to a slow stop in order to prevent future deaths from Oklahoma’s far too frequent and fatal car chases.

    Thank you.

I would like to know your source. If this is common knowledge, why was my request for a copy of the police report refused by the Canadian County District Attorney’s office under the Freedom of Information Act. Names can be redacted, but police reports are public record, in every county of Oklahoma and nationwide as well.

Right now, in America, there is a battle occurring to protect the life of the unborn. In six states, including Oklahoma, there are legislative bills being presented that would criminalize abortion as homicide. In Oklahoma, State Senate Bill 13, would offer the same protection to an unborn child as any other child. Presently, Oklahoma’s “pro-life” laws only regulate abortion but will never end abortion until a collective no is heard from the people. What do we have to lose in ending abortion in this great state? Nothing, but we have everything to gain by ending this horrible act. Let all Oklahoma children get their time on Earth. Let us be a sanctuary state for all babies. I have read somewhere this saying, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves”. One day, the front page of this newspaper will read that abortion has ended in Oklahoma. Your voice makes the difference. Visit to learn more about the bill and please support SB13. Please leave a message with your local senator, Senator Brenda Stanley at 405-521-5584 and ask her to support SB13. It takes five minutes. Most important, contact Greg Treat, President Pro Tem of the Senate, who will decide if the bill will be heard in the Senate. Lawmakers are in session now. Greg Treat 405-521-5632.

I know that office is a blimish in our city. This man is angry. I had to find out who he is in real life because he made me feel not safe. He has a lot of court items. I read assault and battery, possession and intent to distribute, domestic assault, VPO, DUI, and many more bad and scary charges in 2 or 3 other states. He has a drinking problem I can believe because many DUI and I dont beleive you cant do that I think. Should he be in trouble and can doctors do whatever they want when they get a license? I feel no.I dont understand. He had something with a write up and alcohol to a minor at his office but he has done something to make it vanish on the internet. He has minor ladies and they work for him and ask them to do sexy acts and for money, he lies on good doctors and in our city to tarnish them and so he can win. He asked me to crawl under his desk and please him on one of my visits and I am a married and it was of bad nature. He harassed me after from spam pages. He sleeps with his patients and without a single doubt. I have been told by my friend at mass about how he was speaking of a robbery for a angry revenge and he was praying for him. The man is not of sane mind and he does not believe in god and is using it to try to look like he is godly. and He told me he is part of the Illuminati and he is a part of something Q. I do not take part in that nonsense so I never took time to check into it on wiki. I just want him to stop hurting girls I know and stop coming in and harassing them at work. I know my friends daughter had problems at work with him and he is not able to enter or eat at the restaurant. The man I think has a real problem and with anger at women. I dont know. It I feel doesnt make sense and his address doesnt match the one online when I searched it. I had to look several times and they are not the same and the young girl and helped me at the desk to find the right office. I am a believer and I am praying for safety and for the ladies and girls and in our city. He said he was attending my Sunday mass and he has not I never miss and I know he hurting and not a man of god.

It’s pretty pathetic that a newspaper cannot seem to accurately honor the deaths of it’s residents. Messing up names, pictures, and putting an “Wedding Announcement” headline in place of an obituary is despicable. Do. Your. Job. If I were that terrible at my job, I’d be fired. Some changes need to be seen in the Tuttle Times or they should close the doors. Take pride in your work. Do a good job. Honor the communities you report in and the residents by being accurate and complete.

Sticks and Stones May Break Bones, but WORDS Create Hate

On Sunday, August 18, my sister-in-law stopped at the Wal-Mart in Mustang on her way home from church. As she walked through the parking lot to her car, two little girls, who looked to be between 5-6 years old, started yelling at her from their truck, “Hey lady, hey you, go home.” It was obvious from the hateful look on their faces and the tone of their young voices what they were expressing. My sister-in-law is Hispanic. Just as millions of other Americans of Mexican heritage, she was born in America. She is proud to be an American. She is proud of her Mexican heritage, just we are all proud of our family roots, no matter where they began.

Yes, they were just words, but they hurt. They hurt because the man in the truck, possibly the father of the girls, looked straight at my sister-in-law and made no attempt to stop the girls. It’s bad enough that the “adults” in our country hurl insulting and hateful remarks to each other, but these were children! Children are not born with prejudice and hate, they learn it from adults. My sister-in-law was more upset and concerned for these little girls; concerned about the environment of hate and prejudice they were obviously being raised in, and being too young to truly understand the power of the words they were shouting.

Enough of defining each other by race, political party, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. Enough of making assumptions about a person by what they look like on the outside.

There are many loving and caring residents of Mustang, Oklahoma that made my sister-in-law and brother feel welcomed when they moved there from Kansas two years ago. Mustang, don’t let ignorant and racist people like this man define you, or your children.

  11. Your Neighbor on August 14, 2020 at 10:26 am

    Dear Mustang,

The Mustang School Superintendent has changed the name of our award winning Mustang Nightrider marching band. Did you notice? No big deal right? Is the name racist? Maybe we should change the name just in case? I disagree.

Let me tell you about why I love Mustang. Mustang feels like a distillation of everything I love about the American spirit. We are people with values. We do not cower easily. This is a place were you can worship God without discrimination. People here work hard, tell the truth, and help one another. The people in Mustang are good and honest, yet still a little bit wild. The people here are patriots and still think this is the best country on planet Earth. Don’t believe me? Just show up to our Fourth of July celebration. People here support law and order, and big diesel trucks, and hot rods. In Mustang, moms and dads try to hang together even when things are tough. And when couples do split up, the family is still seen as being most important. I love this town because we have love, pride, and a little bit of a rebellious side. We have the courage to give the middle finger to anything that’s just a little to politically correct.

I highlight these values because I believe our way of life is under attack. For the longest time I was naive in thinking that everyone loved America and only wanted whats best for this country, town and our way of life. This is not so. There is a radical left wing movement sweeping our country. BLM, a Marxist lead movement that seeks to “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure” wants to overthrow our democracy in favor of socialism. And socialism does not work. Socialism destroyed the once rich, vibrant Venezuela in one generation. And that’s what they want to happen here! I thought that leftism, socialism, cancel culture, history revisionists, censorship of free speech and the burning and destroying of personal property were far away in someplace like New York or Seattle. But no, their ideologies are seeping in.

Cancel culture is here my friend. Here’s how it works. No one wants to be called racist. So anything they want to cancel, they call it racist. This ploy is so simple yet effective. Don’t believe me? They just canceled the Nightrider marching band’s name. Historically, the Nightriders were a group of vigilante farmers who rose up against a corporate monopoly that was destroying their life. Were they the best role models? Maybe not. Were they an organization founded on racist intent? CERTAINLY NOT! Were they a darn good name for a marching band? DEFINITELY! Yet here we are. With a marching band and its canceled nick name. It will be renamed something bland, uninspiring, and unimpressive. I don’t think Its a stretch to say that this strikes at the very heart of what it means to be Mustang. A little irreverent, a little wild, and All American!

Like I’ve said before, I love this place. I didn’t think it could happen here. But this is how it starts. How long before they are burning our cop cars and torching your business? I don’t know. But I don’t want Mustang canceled. So neighbors, I urge you, watch out! Don’t kneel! Stand up for our way of life!

    Most sincerely,

    Your Neighbor.

    Women Who Own It
    Trendsetter. Trailblazer. Innovator. Entrepreneur.
If you are anything like our team, one of the first things you do in the morning is sip on a cup of coffee while gearing up for the day, checking emails, or taking the dog(s) outside. And while we certainly have our favorites, we are more than happy to try out a new brand– especially if it means supporting women-owned businesses in the process.
So, if you and I were to sit down to coffee, the first question I’d ask would be:
“What’s your relationship with coffee like?”
For many — it’s an experience, not just something to douse with sugar and gulp.
The world of coffee roasting is vast and rich. We’ve come so far from buying freeze-dried coffee granules from glass jars, with a lot of the general public finally discovering what it means to drink truly great coffee. It’s not just about Arabica or Robusta anymore — no, we’ve all gone down the preverbal rabbit hole of coffee beans, learning everything from washed versus natural processing to just how the growing location of the coffee affects what your brew tastes like.
“Let me inspire you with an incredible lady leading one of today’s Woman Owned business”
Coffee should be for everyone, regardless of gender. But the industry has typically dominated by men, it’s wonderful to see an amazing woman cementing her place within the world of coffee. Owner & Head Roaster, Eva Trevathan of Mean Beans Coffee Company LLC… Crafts some fantastic small batch offerings, that are hard to find anywhere else, she’s dedicated to bettering the coffee industry at all levels. From developing relationships in the sourcing process to offering absolute transparency on each of her roasts, Eva takes a whole approach to roasting and concentrating on the sight and smells of each batch. Eva is fully-dedicated to lifting up people throughout the coffee supply chain, making the industry all the better for it.
Through these relationships, Mean Beans Coffee offers fantastic coffee that won’t only dance on your palate, but also empowers women at every level of the coffee supply chain, showing us how important it is to care about the world around us. And how we can do so even with something as small as buying a cup (or bag(s)!) of coffee.
    Now, that’s worth supporting.

Mean Beans Coffee Company makes fair trade, organic, and sustainable coffees sourced from women-owned or women-managed farms from around the world! Bring their goal to empower women to every cup, offering whole bean, grounds, gift boxes, or even a monthly “Sipscription.”

News Tip and Covid 19 Story

My husband, John Lee Sr, lost his mother and father in Oklahoma the week of December 7, 2020, which was the same week of his birthday.
Currently more than 5000 complaint cases related to Covid 19 nursing homes deaths in the state of New York (Michel, 2021). Citizens everywhere are demanding answers from officials and legislators regarding the treatment of nursing homes patients before and after exposure to the Covid 19 virus. Answers to questions such are the number of Covid 19 nursing home deaths incorrect in every state (Hogan et al., 2021)?
Although the following series of events leads to mostly circumstantial evidence, a seven-year series of a chain of events leads to certain conclusions about the nursing home healthcare organizations in America.

    Long-Term Care:

Between 2001 and 2005, a national healthcare organization headquartered in Fort Smith, Arkansas was sued out of existence under suspicious circumstances (Cockburn, 2016). Beverly Enterprises was a long-term health care organization that provided nursing home services plus other healthcare services including skilled nursing facility (SNF), physical therapy, home health, and hospice services in 20+ states. The last lawsuit against Beverly Enterprises was because of an Arkansas nursing home neglect issue. It was rumored some of the same law firms that sued Beverly Enterprises later became some of the top campaign contributors to Senator Mark Pryor, D-AR 2004 election and were also donors to the Clintons. Mark Pryor was the only Democrat candidate to win the U.S. Senate campaign in 2003). Before Mark Pryor was elected U.S. Senator-D, AR, he was the Attorney General of Arkansas from 1999 to 2003. He was directly involved with the former prosecution of Beverly Enterprises.

By 2006, Beverly Enterprises was bought by the San Francisco, California based Fillmore Capital Partners, LLC. Fillmore Capital Partners, LLC is a group with liberal-leaning board members and top investors known to have close ties to both Nancy Pelosi and the Clintons. According to Jake (2011) from the RedState website, Nancy Pelosi was the first candidate who ran her campaign on the phrase ‘drain the swamp.’ The Fillmore Capital Partners purchased Beverly Enterprises for pennies on the dollar (Bos MSc et al., 2017) just before Obama became President in 2008 and the Affordable Care Act (2010). During the first-year advertising campaign expense reported by Golden Living was reported as hundreds of billions of dollars (not millions). In 2012 the company requested economic stimulus bailout money from the U.S. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

    Other Healthcare Industries:

Before Obamacare became law in 2010, it was not unusual to hear about large healthcare organizations sued or fined by the federal government for unethical conduct. After Obamacare became law in 2010, it appears health care insurance fraud and corruption increased rather than decreased because of the sharp decline in the same investigations. One factor that contributed to the potential for increased corruption includes the political nepotism appointments in health care ‘administrative’ careers.

According to Steve Hilton (2017) the political ‘administrative’ cronyism in large healthcare organizations is extensive. In a Fox News, Swamp Watch video titled Hospitals Hilton(2019) reported, large healthcare system such as Ascension Health, based out of Saint Louis, Missouri grew exponentially under Obamacare. Today, Ascension Health is one of the largest healthcare organizations in the heartland. Ascension has acquired Communitycare, a Medicare contracted insurance company that is owned by healthcare providers in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.

I am a Conservative. Many Republicans today delude themselves by calling me a RINO (Republican In Name Only). True Conservatives believe in the Constitution, Democracy, and the rule of law. Donald Trump only believes in himself. Every other value, or person is expendable. Don’t believe me? Pay attention when he speaks. Then watch what he does. Do you really believe if you are loyal to him, you are “special.” If that pitch sounds like a cult, it’s because it is. Today there are even people in some churches whose words and deeds imitate Donald more than they do Jesus. Like Donald, they mistake bluster for courage. They need to feel like they are brave. But they hate real courage. Remember when Donald referred to John McCain as a loser because he had been captured when his jet was shot down in Vietnam. Donald hated McCain for possessing something Donald lacks completely: character. When McCain was offered an early release because his father was an Admiral, he declined because it violated the military code of being released in order of capture. Can you imagine Donald turning down that deal? You can’t. Donald is incapable of putting anyone, or any ideal, above himself. To not see that, you might be a bright person. But you have surrendered your common sense.
Listen to him talking code to encourage cowards to make anonymous threats, against prosecutors, judges, witnesses, poll workers, political opponents, journalists, or anyone else he feels threatened by. Republicans stuck on Trump (the real RINO’s) are stuck on stupid. We’ll soon learn if the Party is too.
