The Minco Lady Bulldogs had a memorable game on Friday against none other than Ninnekah, a team they have dominated recently.
Ninnekah took an early lead in the first and Minco tied the game up in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Owls scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to lead Minco, 3-2.
In the bottom of the seventh, with one out, Maddie Munn hit the ball in what should of been a force out at first, but the throw was wide forcing Ninnekah’s first baseman to step off the bag and Munn was safe at first with the error.
Gus Duty was next at bat for the Lady Bulldogs and swung at a pitch early in the count, crushing it 240 feet over the wall for the, 4-3 win.
“It was a nail-biter against a team that we have not had problems against. I guess it goes to show that you have to respect your opponent,” said Coach Jason Little. “We hit the ball very hard, but kept hitting it right at them.”
The Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 15-3 and hope to continue their winning streak this week.
Minco will host Bridge Creek and Hinton on Thursday.
