Titan runners capture Suburban crown

The Carl Albert Titans elite boys cross country team continued to dominate Class 5A competition, racing to the championship of the Suburban Conference Tuesday on CA’s home course.
With four runners in the top 10, the Titans breezed to the championship with a low score of 28 with Piedmont a distant second with 38 followed by Shawnee and Noble. Meanwhile the Lady Titans finished second behind Western Heights, while CA JV boys and both Middle School boys and girls squad were crowned conference champions.

Titan junior Camden Shaw was nudged at the finish line by Blake Cope of Piedmont who finished the 5K course in 17:07.7 with Shaw just a step behind at 17:17.13. Matt Moler ran a 17:27.4 for third place and senior Coal Phillips was fifth in 17:41.4.
Jacob and Micah Dodson also won medals for the CA squad. Jacob was 7th in 17:44.1 and Micah was No. 11 in 17:52.0. Titan displacers Blake Vogt and Shevrin Gray also finished in the top 15.
Madison Gaiski and Josie Wiley continued to pace the CA Ladies as Gaiski finished third in 22:46.5 and Wiley, just a freshman, was right behind in fourth with a time of 22:54.1. Brooke Feldman finished 10th in 23:22.4 and soph Mallory Pursell claimed the medal for No. 13 in a time of 23:34.2. Rachel Hardy also medaled in No. 15 in 23:55.5. Displacers for the Lady Titans were Jaylin Johnson and Kaycie White.
ERIC AGUILAR and Keyton Dozier finished 1-2 to spark the Titan JV to the first place finish. Aguilar won the event in 18:25.5 and Dozier was right behind in second place in 18:57.6, The Titans also finished fourth with Hunter Mead, sixth with Zach Box and 7th with Jacob Larson. Displacers were Toby Ford and Andrew Gaedecke.
MADISON BARRON won the JV Girls race for CA with a time of 24:37.4, followed by Brady Davis in third, Mercedes Gonzalez in 5th, Ammaris Robinson in 6th and Malayna Stober in 10th place. Displacers were Arianna Foster and Kynnedy Overton and Madison Rackley was in 15th place.
SEBASTIAN BLY had the top finish for the Middle School boys with a 12:04.6 time in the 3200 meter race. Finishing in the top 10 were Jack Groves, Karsten Geiger and Ryan Garrett with Coby Spiva No. 15. Displacers were Canyon Lindsay and Jake Williams. Also competing for CAMS were William Plouff, Zach Eddy, Nathan Sutterfield, Joshua Robinson, Gage Melton and Caleb Nolen.
Also, Dylan Garcia, Judah Lomo, Brayden Brinlee, Hunter Willard, Max Wolfley, Alex Sutterfield, Laeshen Reynolds and Joseph Theinert.

ALLIE CAPPS had the top time for the CAMS girls with a fourth place finish in 9:36.3 for the 2400 meter run. Also scoring points for the third place Lady Titans were McKenna Barnard, Kaley Plouff, Hailee Plouff and Stormi Griggs. Also competing for CA were Chloe Shaw, Rachel Gober, Kassidy Brinlee, Kayla Hardy, Alivia Wiley, Jolena Layug, Makayla Fisher, Arilee Robinson and Mya Delgado-Deleon.
