Carl Albert boys take third at Edmond meet

Lady Titan relays crack top 10

The Carl Albert swimmers had a chance to face off against some of the top teams in the state last weekend at the Edmond Invitation Meet.
And they continued to improve their times in the process.
The Titans placed third in the boys’ standings, trailing only Norman North and Edmond North. The Lady Titans finished sixth in the girls competition.
Carl Albert’s boys finished second in two of the relays. Kaleb Putman, Bryan Lam, Toby Ford and Jake Estes were runner-up in the 200 medley relay in 1:48.39. Estes, Ford, Putman and Max Wolfley later took silver in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.82.
In the 400 relay, Wolfley, Zach Eddy, Luke Bales and Lam finished fifth (3:57.63).
Ford, Estes and Putman each claimed a pair of top 10 individual finishes.
Putman swam second in the 200 IM (2:08.22) and third in the 100 backstroke (57.90). Estes was third in the 100 freestyle (55.50) and fourth in the 50 freestyle (24.39). And Ford took fourth in the 100 butterfly (58.61) and seventh in the 200 IM.
Other top 10 finishers included: Zach Eddy (50 freestyle), Wolfley (100 freestyle) and Lam (100 breaststroke).
In the girls’ competition, the Lady Titans best showing came in the 200 freestyle relay. Molly Woodruff, Shelbie Price, Makayla Seal and Makiyah Joseph finished third with a time of 1:52.18. The Carl Albert girls were fifth in the 400 freestyle relay (Emily Charron, Woodruff, Seal and Holly Ford), and ninth in the 200 medley relay (Sydnee Hopgood, Jessica Walker, Joseph and Price).
Seal had a pair of top 10 individual finishes. She was fifth in the 100 freestyle (1:01.06) and eighth in the 50 freestyle (27.85). Woodruff (200 IM), Hopgood (100 back) and Woodruff (100 breaststroke) also cracked the top 10 as individuals.
