Man killed on front porch

Midwest City police say a 32-year-old man was killed Wednesday evening as he was trying to enter his home.

At 7:36 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call from a female who said, “I need an ambulance and a police officer right now—my neighbor just got shot in his front yard.”

When officers arrived, they found Ethridge DeJuan Farris dead on the front porch at 1309 Juniper Circle from multiple gunshots.  It appeared at the time of the shooting; Farris was trying to open the front door but collapsed after being fatally wounded.

“These cases are extremely frustrating because of the lack of eye witness information but our agency has some promising leads.  We are dedicating a tremendous amount of police personnel to investigate this loss of human life,” Chief Brandon Clabes said.
