A new coffee shop is coming to Midwest City.

Scooter’s Coffee is opening a drive-thru location at 1865 S. Douglas Blvd., in the parking lot between Henry Hudson’s and S&B’s Burger Joint.

“Scooter’s Coffee was born in the Midwest, so Oklahoma in general was a natural fit to continue our expansion,” said Josi Orsi with Scooter’s Coffee. “We have seen great success in the OKC market with our first four locations and are very excited that Midwest City is next.”

Construction started on the building last month. It is expected to open this fall.

The Midwest City location will be the company’s sixth in the state. There are four locations in the Oklahoma City metro and two in Tulsa.  The company plans to open more than five locations in the metro this year and one more in Tulsa.

According to the company’s website, Scooter’s was started in Bellevue, Nebraska, by Don and Linda Eckles in 1998. They wanted to create a coffee shop that offered high-quality drinks with the convenience of a drive-thru.

Scooter’s menu includes hot and cold coffee drinks, smoothies, tea, and breakfast items.

Orsi said Scooter’s separates itself from competition by focusing on their staff, products, and service.

“We want our customers to feel the connection with our barista teams so we can start their day off on the right foot with a quality drink in hand and quickly,” she said.

My son and I were both looking for a cup of coffee this morning and happen to notice the sign for the new Midwest City Oklahoma store. Decided to pull in and give them a try. We were both having trouble deciding what to order and I guess, since it was taking so long, they thought there was a problem with the comm system and sent someone out with a tablet to take our order? Masked, kept her distance and all those other things we associate with this day and age. She was polite and very understanding of our dilemma, unlike treatment received elsewhere, she seemed fine with having to go a little further to see that the customer was taken care of. Thank you for a new, better, source for my caffeine fix!
