A very unique development is underway along Reno Ave. and Sara Rd. Westgate Park is 100 acres of prime land suited for office, retail, restaurants and multi family housing.
Currently it’s home to the large Westgate One building. That’s the only Class A space in Canadian County and is the flagship building for the development. The five-story building operates 24/7 and is home to NTT Data, several military divisions and call centers. A total of 12 corporate or regional companies office in the Westgate One building.
Developers Dick Tanenbaum and Erik Fleske have teamed up to bring a development unlike anything seen in Oklahoma.
“I think the timing is right for this project. We came in and remaster planned the site so it could be mixed use, retail office and multi family housing. The intent in the long term is to be able to have options for big corporate users as well as small mom and pop users,” said Westgate Park Developer Erik Fleske.
The property features a beautiful lake with a total of 10 buildings planned to surround it. Developers plan to enhance the lake area and make it very special.
“We are going to be spending a lot of money. We’re going to be putting a sidewalk around it. Dick Tanenbaum and his wife have purchased art in Paris that is being shipped here now. We’re going to have outdoor art and gazebos. There may be an opportunity that you could go there with your family, grab some lunch or dinner and walk around the park. We are in the process of enhancing that park with public art,” said Fleske.
They are looking to feature a wide variety of services and restaurants at Westgate Park.
“We’re looking for hair, nail, food, cleaners, insurance companies, dental and urgent care. We’re looking for sit down restaurants, quick serve or take out. Take out pizza, take out Chinese and take out barbecue. Six buildings are office space and four building are retail out of the ten. Each building is ten thousand square feet,” said Fleske.
They believe this location will do great because of where it sits in the far west Oklahoma City area.
“You’ve got Yukon and the fastest growing school system and homes. You’ve got Mustang which is blowing and going. Sara Road is widening. You’ve got the Oklahoma City and I-40 interchange at Morgan Road,” he said.
There’s a variety of unique things occurring at the Westgate Park site. A lot of extra land surrounds the development and will provide for many other uses. They are currently in negotiations for a gas station and have other projects in the work.
“I think a lot of the employees and the people that live in the area are ready for other goods and services,” said Fleske.
