The area continues to grow as it has broken ground on another new local business.

Construction has begun on the new Waffle House at I-40 and Mustang Road. The restaurant will be located next to the IHOP and across from the Taco Bell.

“We’re really excited each time that we are able to open a new location. We know that means a big deal to the community. It brings jobs. It brings the opportunity to have a community gathering place. We’re always excited to have that happen,” said Waffle House Vice President of Public Relations Njeri Boss.

There are currently 1,950 Waffle House restaurants in the country.

Waffle House is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The most popular menu item is the All Star Special. It includes 2 eggs anyway you like. Your choice of toast, grits or hash browns. Your choice of bacon, sausage or ham and of course the Waffle House waffle.

“Our waffle is a sweet cream waffle. You can enhance that by choosing to have pecans, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips or blueberries added to your waffle,” said Boss.

When you think of Waffle House, you likely think of waffles and breakfast food. But it turns out that, in addition to its signature waffle, there is one menu item this restaurant sells more of than anywhere else in the world.

They sell a lot of steaks. “ We serve T-bone and sirloin. We sell the most T-bone steaks in the world,” said Boss.

The new location will have plenty of employment opportunities. They have morning, afternoon and overnight shifts available.

“We will need to staff the location. There should be some signage that will give information that we are looking to hire,” said Boss.

Waffle House is projecting an August 2022 opening of the new location.

“We’re excited. We hope once this location is up and running that the community would embrace it and consider it another community asset,” said Boss.
