Crutcho hosts Back to School Bash and meet the teachers

Teachers, students, and parents attended Crutcho’s Back to School Bash. The event was held on Aug.4 from four to six at the Crutcho Schools District.

Teachers were waiting eagerly in the classrooms to welcome their new students and parents.

Midwest City police was in attendance, helping folks with directions and chatting with students and parents.

Domanick Night and Arianna Fears from the Boys and Girls Club set up a table at the event.

Mrs. Okine, a former Crutchostudent, is beginning her first year at Crutcho teaching first graders.She shared her classroom focus for this year as well.

“I want to crack down on math and reading this year, we need to make sure all of our children are prepared for real life,” said Okine.

One of her students, Krishawn Grigsby, a first-grade student, and his mother, Laneshia Grigsby shared their thoughts on the new year.

“I am excited to be in first grade, I ain’t nervous,” said Grigsby.

2021 Teacher of the Year, Lara Ross is teaching the second grade for her second year and has been teaching at Crutcho for five years.

Mike Walker, Athletic Director and Coach has been with Crutcho for 13 years. He coaches basketball, track and field, cross country, and football fundamentals. He shared his focus for this school year.
