Bridge Creek run rules the Lady Longhorns
The Bridge Creek Lady Bobcats hosted the Jones Lady Longhorns Aug 23 for the first time this season.
Bridge Creek caught fire early in the first inning with the bats as they put in four runs to start things off. A pair of RBI singles and RBI doubles gave them a 4-0 lead at the end of the first inning.
After holding Jones to a scoreless at-bat in the second inning, the Lady Bobcats kept the flame hot on offense replicating another four-run inning. This time it was a sacrifice RBI and a two-run RBI single to extend the Bridge Creek lead to 8-0 ending the second inning.
The Lady Longhorns were able to get on the board at the top of the third inning due to a couple of sacrifice RBIs. Bridge Creek found a way to shut down the rhythm Jones was attempting to create on offense with a couple of flyouts and a strikeout to make the score 8-2.
Bottom of the third inning, a couple of walks, singles, three RBI singles, and a two-run RBI single stretched the Bridge Creek lead to 13-2 after the third inning.
The Lady Bobcats compelled a couple of flyouts and a force-out to complete the short four-inning game with a dominating performance over the Lady Longhorns 13-2 in run-rule fashion.
