Diaz claims medals at State

YUKON — Ariana Diaz is an All-State basketball player, has been selected for Homecoming and Miss Titan honors at Carl Albert High School and now is the proud owner of three medals from the OSSAA State Track and Field Championships held at Yukon High School last weekend.
Diaz gutted out the energy-sapping 300 meter hurdles in a season best 45.70 to claim the bronze medal for third place Diaz improved on her qualifying time of 46.71 to reach the finals.
She also earned a third place medal along with Latrice Logan, Mikayla Robinson and Kaylee Davis with a time of 1:44.49 in the 800 meter relay.
The Lady Titan quartet of Diaz, Logan, Davis and Skylar Robinson posted a 4:10.19 for fourth place in the 1600 meter relay.
Also earning medals for the relays were Anderson, McKenna Barnard, Gianna Weatherspoon and Kaylie Plouff who put together a 10:30.0 for fifth place medals in the 3200 relay.
THE TITAN BOYS 400 meter relay team lost a close battle with neighboring Del City in the finals as the Eagles took gold with 42.38 and the Titan foursome of Deondre Dukes, Noah Darnell, Tryane Washington and Trystan Haynes was right behind at 42.61, season best performances for both teams.
The Titans were also second to the Eagles in thee 800 relay as the four- some of Dukes, Washing- ton, Haynes and Byron Stubbs combined for a 1:28.47 for the silver medals, again in a season best time.
The CA boys also earned medals in the 1600 meter relay as Dar- nell, Stubbs, Haynes and Casey Baker posted a time of 3:26.96.
