Carl Albert’s Ray named to All-State Team

A week after helping Carl Albert win a state title, Ryan Ray received another big honor.

The recent graduate was named to the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team. Ray hit .456 with 3 home runs and 11 doubles as a senior. 

Ray will represent the Large West squad in the OBCA All-State Game. Titans coach Ryan Whitely and staff also were selected to coach the Large West team.

The Large All-State Game is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 4 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.

The OBCA also selected All-Star Teams for each of the classes. Ray and teammates Brodie Hinson and Chase Lashley, and Del City’s Ricky McCullough were selected as OBCA Class 5A All-Stars.

Large East: pitchers Tatum Hayworth (Union), Joe Young (Sapulpa), Jabe Schlehuber (Sand Springs), catchers Cooper Moore (Bixby), Dom Ornela (Sand Springs), first base Max Knight (Bixby), infielders Zane Wilson (Shawnee), Chandler Fowler (Broken Arrow), Grayson Childers (Jenks), outfielders Luke Fox (Bartlesville), Grayson Smith (Bishop Kelley), Grant Evans (Claremore), designated hitter Ethan Gillespie (McAlester), utility player Jackson Archambo (Bishop Kelley).
