Midwest City Animal Services Center announced temporary closure

Effective immediately, Midwest City Animal Welfare will temporarily close their Animal Services Center located at 8485 E. Reno. The City’s veterinary partner recommended closure as the best course of action to stop an additional outbreak of dog flu and dog strep. Medications are being rushed to the facility to help treat animals that may be sick or become sick. Here are some details about how this will affect public services provided by Animal Welfare:
– All public access is prohibited for at least two weeks or until further notice
– No adoptions until further notice
– No animal surrenders until further notice
– Staff will respond to EMERGENCY service calls ONLY
– Residents wanting to reclaim their lost pet will be able to contact Animal Welfare and discuss the process and continuing care for their animal: 405-739-1400
