County Commissioner candidate forum Thursday, Jan. 16

A candidate forum has been scheduled for the upcoming Oklahoma County Commissioner District 1 special election.
The Foundation for Liberating Minds will host the event at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16 at 228 SW 25th St. in Oklahoma City.
Candidates include Democrats Sara Bana, Anastasia Pittman and Jason Lowe and independent Jed Green.
Bana serves on the Midwest City Council. Pittman is a former member of the State House and State Senate. Lowe is an attorney and State Representative.
Candidates are running to fill a vacant seat on the Board of County Commissioners. Former District 1 Commissioner Carrie Blumert resigned in October to accept a position with a nonprofit organization that focusses on mental health issues in Oklahoma.
Chief Deputy Joe Blough has served as the interim commissioner.
District 1 includes much of Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Del City, Spencer, Nicoma Park and Jones.
A primary election will be Feb. 11 and a general election, if necessary, will take place April 1.
